Pocktoberfest

In a tribute to Munich’s traditional Oktoberfest, Pocklington also hosts its own annual Pocktoberfest. Unlike the original on which it is based, Pocktoberfest is pared down to a single-issue event: BEER! Pocktoberfest is purely a Charity event with all proceeds going to local worthy causes. Last year we raised more than £4000!!

This year’s Pocktoberfest, presented by the Pocklington and Market Weighton Round Table is building on the success of previous years. Indeed this year’s range of Real Ales are representing all the regions of the British Isles. After last year’s HUGE success of the German Oktoberfest beer we are hoping to have this fantastic beer in larger quantities this year to cope with the demand! This is brewed only once a year by Paulaner, Spaten, Lowenbrau, Hofbrau and Hacker Pschorr for the Munich festival, and not only do they taste fantastic, but they are strong, so beware! The West Country cider is always a big hit and once again we will have a range of ciders to tickle your taste buds!!

The GREAT CHILLI CHALLENGE! This year local boy Steve Parker will be providing a range of Chillies for you to try. These range from the mildest to some of the hottest chillies in the world! Can you take the HEAT!!

Can I buy a T-Shirt?. After a large number of enquiries, this year we are pleased to announce that we now have Pocktoberfest 2009 T-Shirts available for sale at £5 a go! We are selling them at cost price, but as this if for charity, if you could spare a few extra quid that would be great!!
